Full-Stack Web Developer
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You are an early-career developer who has moved past tutorials and built things that actually run in production or close to it. You know the difference between code that works on your laptop and code that someone else can deploy, maintain, and extend six months later. When something breaks, you dig in. When requirements are unclear, you ask the right questions instead of guessing or waiting.
You have written enough JavaScript and TypeScript to know when a component is getting too complicated, and you care about that. Working across front-end, back-end, and database layers does not intimidate you because you have done it before, even if not at scale. You learn by building, not by collecting certifications.
Small teams appeal to you because your work is visible and your contributions matter from day one. You want to be in a place where asking good questions is valued, where senior engineers actually review your code and explain the why, and where you can see the impact of what you ship. At Synopsys, you will work on internal platforms that employees across the company depend on, and the team you join operates like a high-trust startup inside a global organization.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and maintain full-stack web applications using the PANN stack: PostgreSQL, Angular, NestJS, and Node.js
- Implement features across the entire application layer, from UI components in Angular to API endpoints in NestJS to database schema changes in PostgreSQL
- Work with Prisma ORM to model data, manage migrations, and write clean database access logic
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into working software that solves real problems
- Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and orchestrate services in environments managed with Kubernetes, Nginx, and Apache
- Contribute to AI-enabled features including retrieval-augmented generation workflows, prompt engineering, and automation that pulls from internal knowledge repositories
- Support CI/CD pipelines and help maintain production systems through monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning
The Impact You Will Have
- Your code will power internal platforms used daily by employees across Synopsys to get work done faster and more securely
- You will reduce manual effort and operational overhead by automating repetitive workflows and integrating disconnected systems
- The features you build will improve how teams access organizational knowledge, make decisions, and collaborate across functions
- Your contributions will help scale cybersecurity, compliance, and engineering operations across a 30,000-person global organization
- You will enable better data-driven decision-making by building intuitive interfaces that surface the right information at the right time
- Working in a small, high-impact team means your individual work will be visible and valued, not lost in a backlog
- You will help lay the foundation for scalable solutions that can be adopted across multiple business units as the platform grows
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience building and shipping web applications
- 5+ years of experience developing full-stack web applications, though stronger evidence of end-to-end delivery can matter more than years
- Hands-on experience with the PANN technology stack: PostgreSQL, Angular, NestJS, and Node.js in real projects, not just side experiments
- Solid working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and REST API design
- Experience using Prisma or a comparable ORM for data modeling, schema migrations, and database access patterns
- Familiarity with Docker for containerization and exposure to Kubernetes, Nginx, or Apache in deployment contexts
- Practical exposure to AI technologies such as large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, or automation workflows, whether through work, coursework, or personal projects
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing methodologies, and secure coding principles
- Experience integrating systems through APIs and working with both relational and non-relational databases
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, you can explain what you built, why you built it that way, and what tradeoffs you made
Who You Are
- You take ownership of your work and follow through, even when it means asking for help or clarification along the way
- When you encounter a problem you do not immediately know how to solve, you research, test, and ask targeted questions instead of spinning or guessing
- You write code with the next person in mind, whether that is a teammate doing a review or your future self debugging at 3pm on a Tuesday
- You are comfortable working in a small team where accountability is high and your contributions are visible from day one
- Curiosity drives you, especially around emerging technologies like AI, and you are eager to apply them to solve real business problems, not just experiment
- You can collaborate effectively with people outside engineering, translating technical constraints into language that product and business stakeholders actually understand
- You care about user experience and think through how the features you build will actually be used, not just whether they technically function
- Results matter to you more than process for its own sake, you want to ship things that work and make a measurable difference
The Team You'll Be Part Of
Your team develops platforms and capabilities that help scale cybersecurity, compliance, engineering, and business operations across Synopsys. The team operates with a startup mindset, focusing on high-impact initiatives, rapid execution, and practical innovation. You will work closely with a small group of technical and domain experts to build solutions that enable automation, knowledge management, and data-driven decision making. Individual contributions are highly visible, and you will have direct access to senior engineers who will review your work, explain tradeoffs, and help you grow.
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
