Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
To assist the Lutheran Center for Faith, Values, and Community in working to deepen campus understanding of the role that religious identity plays in many people’s lives and of the importance of interfaith (including non-religious) education and cooperation, with a special emphasis on student programming and outreach

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Lutheran Center staff to plan, promote, and implement events, with a special emphasis on how to involve and promote to students
- With supervision, develop, promote, and implement an interfaith event or project of your choice, possibly in coordination with relevant student religious or other partner organizations
- Attend weekly group meetings, find and share resources on interfaith engagement and facilitate discussion of those resources at assigned group meetings
- Attend one-on-one meetings with Lutheran Center Director or Associate Director
- Collaborate with SGA Interfaith Senator on outreach to student religious organizations
- Compose and deliver a talk in daily chapel or write a blog post for the Lutheran Center blog, reflecting on religious or non-religious identity, your faith journey, interfaith cooperation, etc.
- Attend the Lutheran Center Steering Committee meetings, offering feedback on the Center’s strategies and outreach in collaboration with faculty and staff on the committee
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Required:
- At least one semester of experience as a college student at St. Olaf
- Interest in exploring and articulating the importance of religious/worldview identity to students, faculty, staff, and other community members
- Dedication to engaging in and promoting interfaith (including non-religious) cooperation
- Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to complete work independently, self-motivation, and initiative
- Ability to work five hours a week, including occasional chapel times and evenings
Preferred:
- Previous experience working across religious difference (including non-religious)
