Overview: The primary purpose of this role is to support and grow the parish in their daily faith life with the primary objective of gaining a clear understanding of what key affinity groups need and want to bring them closer to Jesus Christ, and then deliver the right resources at the right time in the right manner.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a committed Catholic, have an associate’s degree in theology along with a clear understanding and desire for Catholic teaching, and a demonstrated track record of success in building up parish life.
Requirements: This role may start as either part-time or full-time; however, the expectation is that greater success will lead to the need for an ongoing full-time role:
1. Catechesis: Under the direction of the pastor, support the delivery of an integrated faith formation educational ministry across all programs including OCIA, VBS, Youth Ministry, CCD, Sacramental Preparation, Bible Study etc.
2. Evangelization: Reach out to ALL parishioners and invite them to join existing ministries via the volunteer dinner/ministry fair and ongoing follow up. AND develop outreach and listening protocols on a monthly basis to ensure key affinity groups have the opportunity for either additional guidance and support for existing ministries, or to recommend/develop new programs.
Known areas for opportunity including Home Formation, “Catholicism 101”, Newcomer Welcome, and Ecumenical Outreach should be explored, but only pursued if there are clear benefits in aiding parishioners and visitors in coming closer to Jesus Christ.
3. Vocations: Known areas for opportunity including Discipleship, Weddings & Anniversaries, Marriage Support/Sponsor Couples, Celebrating Vocations to the Priesthood & Religious Life should be explored, but only pursued if there are clear benefits in aiding parishioners in coming closer to Jesus Christ.
4. School: This role will work with the pastor, school and parish staff to develop a targeted, written action plan with clear milestones, events, communications etc. to:
o understand the current baseline of school parent engagement with the parish liturgical life and sacrificial giving
o and execute an action plan to increase engagement
5. Other Ministries: With the support of the parish secretary, business manager, ministry leads and marketing role, this role will build and maintain a baseline and monthly update of the numbers of participants in the parish by selected affinity groups and ministries, along with documentation supporting “good news”/wins that can be communicated to invite parishioners in a targeted manner momentum.
