Certified Nursing Assistant – PDHC assists clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to, toileting, dressing, feeding, positioning, lifting, and assisting with activities. Performs various direct and indirect patient services under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse. Supports Hospital's mission to provide the highest quality care by complying with regulatory guidelines, meeting agency standards, and obtaining appropriate certification.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides direct client care as directed by registered nurse.
2. Reports changes in client’s status and delivery of care to registered nurse.
3. Supervises clients during meals and snack time and informs Nursing or Nutritional Services of any concerns.
4. Acts as primary personnel for toileting clients.
5. Provides restorative care as applicable based on the client’s care plan and as directed by the nurse.
6. Assists clients with ADLs (e.g. toileting, feeding, dressing, etc.).
7. Ensures documentation of ADLs in the eMR.
8. Organizes and maintains program equipment and supplies.
9. Assists on trips and events.
10. Escorts clients in a safe and appropriate manner.
11. Follows safety precautions, notices potential hazardous situations and takes corrective action or bring such situation to the attention of the Supervisor.
12. Assists in testing of clients with diabetes as instructed by the registered nurse.
13. Implements goals selected by multidisciplinary treatment team.
14. Carries over therapeutic activities appropriate for client’s developmental levels.
15. Assists clients with homework and tutors them as necessary.
