Job Title: Speciaal Education Paraprofessional 10 month Wage/Hour Status:SCESP

Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
● College degree or Paraprofessional license, sub license preferred
● Maintain de-escalation non-violent intervention training and certification as identified

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
● Implement classroom management strategies
● Provides behavioral support across settings including the implementation of behavioral
interventions and gathering of data.
● Assist in maintaining records and reports regarding student progress
● Maintaining regular communication between staff as it pertains to the students they
support
● Assist in preparing, collecting, reproducing and organizing teaching and learning materials
for the classroom
● Assist classroom teachers in the instructional process reinforcing instruction to small
groups of students
● Collaborate, communicate and assist in the implementation of IEP, BIPs for students and
collect data as delineated in the plan
● Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing and
practicing appropriate social skills
● May assist students with self care, hygiene, positioning and transfers
● Supervise and support students in work based initiatives (HS+)
● Support students across educational settings including but not limited to work based
learning (HS+) and transportation
● Acquire and maintain an understanding of the structure, operation and function of the
school district, building and various departments

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and
peripherals.
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling,
and twisting.
Vision: Abilities required of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Motion: Frequent movement throughout the work environment. Repetitive hand motions;
frequent keyboarding, use of mouse, and occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying 25 pounds
