Job Purpose/ Summary

The SSH-QC-GWS is responsible for ensuring that fabrication, repair, machining, assembly, and equipment-related activities carried out in the Growth Shop comply with approved drawings, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP., Inspection & Test Plans (ITP., applicable standards, and customer requirements.

The role focuses on inspection, testing, NDT execution, documentation, and traceability control to ensure that fabricated and repaired items are fit for service, safe, and conforming to quality standards before release for use or dispatch.

Job Description
The incumbent will independently manage quality inspection and testing activities in the Growth Shop, covering incoming materials, fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and final inspection of plant equipment, structures, and components.

The role requires close coordination with fabrication, welding, maintenance, production, and planning teams, with hands-on involvement in shop-floor inspections, NDT interpretation, documentation, and audit readiness.

This position also supports quality system compliance, calibration control, and continuous improvement initiatives in the Growth Shop.

Principal Accountabilities
Perform inspection and testing of plant equipment and machinery as per approved drawings Quality Assurance Plans QAP Inspection Test Plans ITP and inspection proceduresbrCarry out incoming inspection of raw materials fabricated parts machined components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standardsbrConduct welding and fabrication inspections including fitup alignment visual inspection compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications WPS and Procedure Qualification Records PQR and verification of welder qualificationsbrPerform NonDestructive Testing NDT activities such as Visual Testing VT Penetrant Testing PT Magnetic Testing MT and Ultrasonic Testing UT and interpret results according to applicable acceptance standardsbrExecute machining inspections covering dimensional checks tolerances surface finish and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GDT requirements using calibrated instrumentsbrCarry out assembly and final inspections to verify fitup alignment functional performance and equipment readiness for servicebrReview and validate Material Test Certificates MTCs to ensure full material traceability and compliance with quality standardsbrPrepare maintain and control inspection reports NDT records and quality documents to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentationbrCoordinate and maintain the calibration of inspection instruments and related calibration records to ensure accuracy and reliabilitybrUpdate inspection status and reports using SAPERP and MS Office tools to maintain accurate records and facilitate communicationbrSupport internal external and customer quality audits and NonConformance Report NCR closure activities to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with quality standards
