About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Lead UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team at Huptech Web. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for guiding the design department, overseeing the creation of compelling digital experiences, and ensuring that our design standards align with client expectations and industry trends. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team of designers, implement innovative design processes, and directly contribute to high-profile eCommerce projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in web and mobile design, particularly within the eCommerce space, and will be adept at integrating AI tools into their workflow to enhance creativity and efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design, with a robust portfolio showcasing successful eCommerce projects for web and mobile platforms. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with XD or Sketch is essential. A deep understanding of eCommerce UX components including product listing pages, product detail pages, shopping cart, checkout processes, search functionalities, and funnel optimization is required. Experience working with Shopify (especially 2.0 themes, sections, and components) and WooCommerce is highly desirable. Candidates should possess a basic understanding of HTML/CSS to facilitate smooth collaboration with developers and have a strong grasp of responsive, accessible, and user-friendly design principles. Familiarity with analytics tools like GA4, heatmaps, session recordings, and conversion rate optimization workflows will be advantageous. Leadership experience managing design teams or leading complex projects is essential, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
As the Lead UI/UX Designer, your primary responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a team of six designers with varying experience levels, from freshers to seasoned professionals. You will review and approve all design outputs to ensure they meet quality standards before submission to project managers, clients, or development teams. Building and maintaining a comprehensive design system and establishing efficient processes for the department will be a key focus. You will conduct daily standups, plan workloads, and manage deadlines effectively to ensure timely project delivery. Training the team on AI-powered design tools such as Figma AI, Stitch, Lovable, v0, and Midjourney will be part of your role, fostering innovation within the team. When project demands require, you will step in to design high-level concepts or provide creative direction. Participating in client calls to present designs, gather feedback, and understand project requirements directly will be integral. Collaborating with developers and marketing teams to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and aligned with business goals is essential. Staying updated on the latest design trends, AI tools, and industry best practices, and applying these insights to ongoing projects will help maintain our competitive edge.
Technical Skills You Should Have
The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, variants, components, and design systems, along with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with XD or Sketch is a plus. A comprehensive understanding of eCommerce UX design principles—covering product listing pages, product detail pages, shopping carts, checkout processes, search functionalities, and funnel optimization—is required. Familiarity with Shopify (especially 2.0 themes, sections, and components) and WooCommerce is essential. Basic knowledge of how designs translate into development (HTML/CSS concepts) will facilitate seamless collaboration with developers. A strong grasp of responsive design, usability, and accessibility standards (WCAG guidelines) is necessary. Experience with analytics tools such as GA4, heatmaps, session recordings, and CRO workflows will be beneficial. Additional skills in email template design, branding, logo creation, micro-interactions, and animation will set candidates apart. Heavy utilization of AI tools for design and graphics work is expected, reflecting our innovative approach to digital design.
Leadership and People Skills
