About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer – Tooling who can manage tooling activities from concept to production. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in cutting tools, tooling development, CNC machining, and process optimization.
This role requires close collaboration with production teams, tooling vendors, and process planning engineers to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Study component drawings and prepare tooling requirements along with the Process Planning team.
- Develop tooling concepts for new products and production requirements.
- Coordinate with cutting tool suppliers for tool selection, design, and finalization.
- Prepare cost-per-piece calculations and tooling cost estimations.
- Coordinate with tooling agencies for prove-outs and new tool development activities.
- Ensure timely availability of tooling for production across all manufacturing plants.
- Support production teams by resolving tooling-related issues and process improvements.
- Monitor tooling performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and tool life.
- Maintain tooling records, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, jigs, fixtures, and tooling systems.
- Experience in CNC machining operations and machining processes.
- Good understanding of CNC programming concepts.
- Knowledge of machining parameters, coolants, and machine dynamics.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience in tooling cost optimization and productivity improvement.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and process planning.

Qualifications
- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 6–9 Years of relevant experience in Tooling, CNC Manufacturing, or Precision Engineering.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with experience in:

- CNC Machining
- Tool Room Operations
- Manufacturing Process Engineering
will be preferred.
