Job Title: Test Automation Engineer
Designation: Sr Test Engineer - Automation
Location: Bangalore, WTC 4
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer with expertise in Playwright to join our dynamic software testing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and performance of our software applications. This role requires a strong understanding of test automation frameworks and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand testing requirements and develop test plans.
- Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
- Continuously enhance the automation framework and tools to improve testing efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Document test cases, test results, and defects in a clear and concise manner.
- Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution of defects.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in test automation.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge on automation best practices.
Mandatory Skills
- Proficiency in Playwright for test automation.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Solid programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with other test automation tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of performance testing and security testing.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
- Experience in working with cloud-based testing environments.
- Understanding of API testing and tools like Postman or similar.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in software testing or automation are a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for quality assurance.
