Sr. System Engineer - TCMS Traction & Brake Functions
You’ll make a difference by
As a System Engineer - TCMS Traction & Brake Functions, you will be responsible for developing and integrating traction and brake control functionalities for innovative rail vehicles and train control systems. Your tasks and responsibilities are as follows:
- Definition of system requirements and interface specifications for traction and brake control functionalities.
- Design and implementation of software components in alignment with safety-relevant software system guidelines.
- Good understanding and experience in traction control, brake systems, and setpoint generation for traction and brakes.
- Designing control functions based on functional block diagrams and system requirements.
- Development of RArS, SWrS, interface specifications, and software test specifications.
- Conduct code reviews and support design verification activities.
- Define interfaces between TCMS, propulsion systems, brake systems, and onboard subsystems.
- Analyse diagnostic information, perform bug fixing, and define new control logics to improve vehicle performance and operational safety.
- Support implementation of software upgrades and new functionalities using the V-model approach.
- Conduct technical discussions with subsystem/component suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Act as a problem solver while ensuring compliance with applicable railway standards and project requirements.
- Work independently on traction and brake-related TCMS subsystems and develop logic block diagrams for train control applications.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or relevant engineering stream with relevant rolling stock experience, 5-10 years.
- Domain knowledge of traction systems, brake systems, train control systems, and TCMS applications.
- Hands-on experience in setpoint generation and control logic development for traction and brakes is mandatory.
- Experience in working with TRDP, MVB, WTB, Ethernet, and communication protocols used in train systems.
- Strong understanding and proven experience in requirement engineering is a prerequisite.
- Hands-on experience in development of control documents such as RArS, SWrS, interface specifications, and test specifications.
- Good understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, EN 50657, etc.
- Good communication and presentation skills complete your profile.
- You should demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills to achieve project goals.
