About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Lead Developer to join our Bangalore team. This role is pivotal in leading the development, debugging, and optimization of L2/L3 networking protocols within our cutting-edge networking systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of C programming, Linux environments, and protocol-level software design. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers, designing robust networking features, and ensuring seamless integration across various platforms. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex networking projects, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to the advancement of open networking systems and white-box switch ecosystems.
Qualifications
- 8 to 16 years of professional experience in L2/L3 protocol development and networking software engineering.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming within Linux operating system environments is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with networking protocols such as VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VXLAN, LLDP, LAG, BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, IGMP, PIM, MPLS, GRE, IPSec, MacSec, NAT, VPN, TCP, UDP, and OpenSSL.
- Strong knowledge of multi-threading, socket programming, and network security concepts including TCP/IP, IPsec, VPN, routing, NAT, and DPI.
- Excellent understanding of data structures, memory management, and software architecture for scalable networking systems.
- Experience with Linux kernel development, network security, and open networking ecosystems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of L2/L3 network protocol features to meet evolving business needs and industry standards.
- Own the implementation of new networking functionalities, ensuring high performance and stability across Linux-based platforms.
- Architect and optimize multi-threaded, socket-based communication systems to ensure efficient data transfer and processing.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing protocol implementations, driving continuous improvement in software quality.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices to foster team growth and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with QA and support teams to validate features, conduct testing, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Document design specifications, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into the development process.
