About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Lead Developer to join our Bangalore team. This role is pivotal in advancing our networking capabilities, specifically focusing on Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol development. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network protocols, proficiency in C programming within Linux environments, and a strong background in protocol-level software design. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, debugging, and optimization of networking features across diverse platforms and open networking systems. You will also mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to architectural decisions that drive the future of our networking solutions.
Qualifications
- 8 to 16 years of hands-on experience in L2/L3 network protocol development.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming within Linux operating systems is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols such as VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VXLAN, LLDP, LAG, BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, IGMP, PIM, MPLS, GRE, IPSec, MacSec, NAT, VPN, TCP, and UDP.
- Experience with multi-threaded programming and socket programming for high-performance network applications.
- Excellent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and memory management techniques.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, modular design, and best practices in network systems development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocol features, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Own the implementation of new networking functionalities, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Debug and troubleshoot existing protocol implementations, identifying and resolving issues to improve system stability and performance.
- Architect and optimize multi-threaded and socket-based communication systems to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions to maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with QA and support teams to validate features, conduct testing, and resolve issues promptly.
- Document software design, architecture, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate maintenance and future development.
