About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Test Automation Engineer with expertise in Wi-Fi technologies and Python scripting to join our client’s dynamic team in Bangalore on a hybrid work basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing frameworks to validate advanced wireless features, including roaming, security protocols, performance metrics, and next-generation Wi-Fi standards such as Wi-Fi 6, 6E, and 7. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless technologies within a top US-based tech company, contributing to the development and validation of innovative wireless solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 8 years of experience in wireless testing, automation, or related domains is required. Demonstrated expertise in Wi-Fi standards, security protocols, and automation scripting is essential. Candidates should have a strong background in Python programming, experience with testing frameworks like PyTest or Robot Framework, and familiarity with Linux shell scripting. Additional knowledge of enterprise Wi-Fi deployments, client driver experience, and emerging technologies such as Wi-Fi 7 and 6 GHz bands will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust automation frameworks for wireless testing using Python, ensuring scalability and reusability.
• Validate a wide range of Wi-Fi features, including roaming, WPA2/WPA3 security, throughput, latency, Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS), and channel management.
• Automate functional, regression, and performance test cases to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.
• Analyze logs generated from access points, client devices, and packet captures using tools like Wireshark to diagnose issues and verify wireless performance.
• Utilize tools such as iperf, traffic generators, and Linux networking utilities to simulate network conditions and validate performance metrics.
• Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, ensuring seamless testing workflows.
• Debug wireless connectivity issues, perform root cause analysis, and document findings to facilitate resolution and product improvement.
• Collaborate closely with development teams, system engineers, and product managers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality assurance.
• Continuously improve test automation processes, expand test coverage, and enhance overall testing efficiency.
