The Team: We at Localization are an integral part of creating new listings and enabling customers to shop in a language of preference globally. Our vision is to enable customers in every Store to have access to all of Amazon's WW selection and in a language of their choice. Every year, we help in launching new marketplaces and localize billions of products for Amazon worldwide. The site at Hyderabad manages multiple critical programs for WW Localization team.
The Role: We are looking for an exceptional Program Manager to join Hyd team and drive Operational Excellence in non-tech domain of project/program management. Operational Excellence is not a set of activities but a philosophy and a mind-set anchored on problem-solving and leadership, in order to create sustainable continuous improvement. We expect this leader to enhance both the value of services as well as its delivery to our customers, by deploying (but not restricted to) new processes and implementing consistent small improvements that compound over time to produce big results. What do we expect you to do? This position will be responsible for driving multiple critical programs for WW ASIN Localization, ensuring successful delivery of business goals. You will structure programs to launch new processes, identify defects across existing portfolios and rectify them. The work entails managing multiple portfolios simultaneously and entails coordination with multiple internal teams of Amazon. This is a unique role that offers a great opportunity to build something new, work cross functionally across strategic businesses, and interact with global stakeholders. You will need to balance between big picture thinking and obsessing with the details, identifying risks. The ideal candidate should have exceptional written and verbal skills, and be comfortable presenting to senior leadership and drive alignment amongst stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Is Expected To
- Work with internal teams (Engineering/Product Management etc) to identify opportunities and set up new processes from scratch which can reduce operational load on partner teams.
- Work with product management/Engineering teams to understand program requirements and jointly develop a solution to drive automation as well as deliver on the yearly goals.
- Identify defects, deep dive root causes and work out short-term and long-term solutions. Use industry proven tools such as lean/six sigma to drive operational efficiencies and quality improvement in the operations team under your purview.
- Develop team goals and metrics that allow for accurate measurement and traction towards solving a business problem, achieve buy-in from stakeholders and actively report progress on the goals.
- People management i.e. performance appraisals, goal setting, training and mentoring talent to grow within organization & control attrition.
- Thrive and operate in a variable & grey environment by addressing situations of low workload forecast, varying customer priorities, changing mix of workload which will impact productivity bar and cross-skilling of resources for most optimum throughput management.
Key job responsibilities
The Sr Program Manager must serve as a single-threaded leader capable of managing complex, cross-functional escalations across multiple stakeholders including RBS, Softlines, and seller teams, transforming fragmented ownership into end-to-end resolution. The role requires strategic vision to shift teams from reactive problem-solving to proactive quality assurance, establishing centralized project plans anchored by measurable P0 metrics across discoverability, variations, returns and detail page defects. This leader must demonstrate excellent SQL skills for making data-driven decisions, translating business impact into actionable roadmaps with clear success criteria. The position demands stakeholder management excellence, coordinating between technical teams (BIE, Tech, Product) and business partners while establishing standardized SLAs and escalation protocols. Critical capabilities include organizational design, restructuring teams through cross-training programs and resource optimization without additional headcount, plus technical acumen to understand catalog architectural enhancements and system behaviors. The PM must excel at building mechanisms, creating scalable frameworks for defect identification and reduction, and AI-powered feedback loops that scale quality improvements. Finally, this role requires leadership influence to secure executive alignment, drive implementation timelines, and foster a culture of continuous improvement that impacts Amazon's worldwide catalog quality.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5+ years of program or project management experience, or Bachelor's degree
- Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements
- 3+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech teams experience
- Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
Preferred Qualifications
