Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sr Production Engineer role based in the Pune Division. The Sr Production Engineer will oversee daily production activities for LSR molding and HCR extrusion, ensuring consistent output, quality, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include monitoring and optimizing process parameters, coordinating production schedules, and resolving technical issues on the shop floor. The role involves leading root cause analysis for defects, working with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects, and supporting equipment maintenance and upgrades in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams. The Sr Production Engineer will also train and guide production operators, maintain documentation and reporting, and support implementation of lean manufacturing and best practices in rubber part production.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) molding and HCR (High Consistency Rubber) extrusion, including process setup, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of rubber material properties, tooling design basics, and manufacturing processes for automotive and industrial components.
- Experience with production planning, shop-floor supervision, and line balancing in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality control methods, statistical process control, and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement (Kaizen), and waste reduction initiatives.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make data-driven decisions under time constraints.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with operators, maintenance teams, engineers, and management.
- Proficiency in basic production reporting and use of manufacturing-related software or ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Polymer/Rubber Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in rubber component manufacturing or similar process-oriented industries; supervisory experience is an advantage.
