Senior PD Merchandiser (Costing Specialist)
Role: Senior PD Merchandiser

Role & Responsibilities
- Candidate should have strong experience in garment manufacturing export house.
- Candidate should have excellent knowledge of woven garments, costing, and product development.
- Strong understanding of fabric consumption, order costing, T&A, and production coordination.
- Responsible for handling buyer communication from development stage till shipment.
- Reporting to Managing Director / Business Head.
- Preparing accurate garment costing for all new enquiries with complete analysis of fabric, trims, CM, washing, embroidery, printing, testing, packing, overheads, and margins.
- Negotiating costing with buyers and suppliers to achieve target margins.
- Getting fabric consumption from CAD/Sample Department and verifying consumption accuracy.
- Coordinating with sourcing team for fabric/trims quotations and developments.
- Arranging proto, fit, PP, and salesman samples as per buyer requirements.
- Explaining development details to Sample Department and coordinating embroidery, printing, washing, and value additions.
- Reviewing tech packs, buyer comments, and construction details carefully before sample execution.
- Analyzing sample construction and suggesting production-friendly methods for bulk execution.
- Maintaining costing sheets, BOMs, order details, and style-wise margin analysis.
- Conducting risk analysis before order confirmation related to costing, lead time, fabric availability, and production feasibility.
- Coordinating with PPC, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams for smooth execution.
- Preparing Time & Action calendar and ensuring all activities are completed within timelines.
- Raising purchase requisitions and coordinating with procurement for fabric and trims booking.
- Follow-up with suppliers for timely in-house of fabric, trims, and accessories.
- Conducting Pre-Production meetings for all confirmed styles.
- Monitoring order status from development till shipment and updating buyers regularly.
- Coordinating with quality and production teams for approvals and bulk execution.
- Handling buyer approvals for fabrics, trims, fit comments, lab dips, print strike-offs, and accessories.
- Maintaining strong communication with buyers regarding development status, costing revisions, production updates, and shipment plans.
- Coordinating with shipping department for invoice, packing list, and shipment documentation.
- Follow-up for payment status and buyer receivables.
- Responsible for maintaining all merchandising reports, costing files, BOMs, order sheets, and development trackers.
- Ensure smooth handover from PD stage to production with complete documentation.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong in garment costing and margin analysis.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of woven fabrics, washes, printing, embroidery, and garment construction.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Ability to independently handle buyers and suppliers.
- Good command on Excel, ERP, and merchandising documentation.
Education
UG: Any Graduate
Experience
- 10–15 Years experience in Garment Export House.
- Must have strong exposure in PD to Production merchandising and costing.
