Role Description
This is a full-time, remote role for a Senior MERN Developer. The Senior MERN Developer will be responsible for designing robust, scalable systems, building efficient components using MERN stack technologies, and contributing to development processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing and reviewing clean, well-structured code, and troubleshooting and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using React.js, Next.js, and Node.js.
- Implement server-side rendering (SSR) and performance optimizations using Next.js.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Develop reusable and modular frontend components and backend services.
- Work with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs where required.
- Implement search capabilities using Elasticsearch or SOLR when needed.
- Participate in architecture discussions and system design decisions.
- Ensure application scalability, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, QA, and DevOps.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and technical challenges.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience with JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Expertise in React.js and Next.js.
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js.
- Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and modern web architecture.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.
- Experience working with Git and modern development workflows.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
- Proven experience building production-grade scalable applications.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with NestJS framework for backend architecture.
- Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, or CloudFront.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch or SOLR for search implementations.
- Experience with Docker or containerized deployments.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Experience building mobile applications using React Native.
