Work Experience
Core Responsibilities
- Design & Modeling: Develop complex 3D models and high-fidelity 2D assemblies using SolidWorks for oilfield machinery, including drilling equipment and subsea tools.
- R&D Engineering: Under general supervision, apply functional specifications and engineering tools to design hardware for new product development (NPI) or modifications to existing products.
- Analysis & Simulation: Perform physics-based modeling, modal vibration analysis using FEA, and fatigue analysis to ensure structural integrity and optimized performance.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full design lifecycle from initial concept through prototype validation to production release, including managing complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Reliability & Standards: Conduct failure analyses and contribute to FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to improve hardware reliability while ensuring designs meet API, ASME, and ISO standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a technical lead, collaborating with manufacturing, operations, and external suppliers to resolve field issues and maintain product quality.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline is mandatory; a Master’s degree is often preferred for senior or R&D tracks.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or engineering.
- Specific expertise in upstream oil & gas applications or high-reliability
- Technical Tools:
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, surfacing, and assemblies).
- Strong command of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems for version control and data security.
- Certification: A licensed or chartered Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly preferred for senior-level roles
