Speciality Chemicals: The Specialty Chemical business of Jubilant Ingrevia manufactures Pyridine, Picolines and its forward integration derivatives, which finds application in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, solvents, metal finishes, fine chemicals, semiconductors etc.
We have also launched new platform of Diketene & its value-added derivatives for multiple industry use. We are an established ‘partner of choice’ in CDMO, with more investment plans in GMP & Non-GMP multi-product facilities for Pharma, Agro and Semi-conductor customers.

The Position

Summary
The role is responsible for end-to-end process engineering support, from technology transfer to commissioning of new molecules. Key activities include evaluating industrial-scale feasibility, conducting pilot trials, developing conceptual designs, and ensuring safe, efficient scale-up of processes. The position leads hazard identification, participates in PHA studies, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement engineering modifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Transfer & Feasibility
- Receive and assimilate new process technologies from R&D.
- Assess feasibility of processes for industrial-scale implementation.
- Process Development & Optimization
- Understand lab-scale processes through demonstrations and data collection.
- Recommend and validate deviation parameters for industrial-scale systems.
- Establish performance norms at lab scale and prepare material & energy balances.
- Pilot Trials & Scale-Up
- Map process steps and supervise pilot plant trials to generate critical parameters.
- Conduct scale-up studies and demonstrate process performance at pilot scale.
- Lead troubleshooting during pilot trials in collaboration with R&D and operations.
- Conceptual Design & Engineering
- Develop conceptual designs for plant-scale operations.
- Review designs with cross-functional teams and incorporate feedback.
- Propose engineering modifications to ensure process performance.
- Safety & Compliance
- Identify process hazards and define safeguards for catastrophic risks.
- Lead hazard identification and participate in PHA studies as process expert.
- Commissioning & Handover
- Lead commissioning activities with operations, engineering, R&D, and QC teams.
- Troubleshoot during commissioning and address performance gaps.
- Prepare commissioning reports and formally hand over the process to operations.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Guide and mentor the process engineering team in executing responsibilities.
- Ensure continuous development and capability building within the team.
The Person
Qualifications & Experience
- BE/B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering with 10-15 years of experience in Process Engineering of specialty chemicals, agrochemicals fields.
- Should be capable to lead team of Process Engineers.
- Knowledge on Tech. transfer, process safety aspects & implementation of it in conceptual design stage itself.
- Good knowledge on Process Equipment design & its troubleshooting.
