Job Description – Sr. Manager Procurement – HEMM (Heavy Earth Moving Machinery)

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager – Procurement (HEMM) to lead end-to-end procurement activities for Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), spare parts, and consumables. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the mining industry and possess strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, inventory management, and procurement planning. The role focuses on ensuring timely material availability, optimizing procurement costs, and driving operational excellence while maintaining compliance and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end procurement of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), spare parts, consumables, and related services.
Develop and manage relationships with OEMs, strategic suppliers, and alternate vendors.
Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, annual rate agreements, and pricing to achieve cost optimization.
Ensure uninterrupted availability of machinery and critical spares for plant operations.
Identify alternate sourcing opportunities and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement planning with maintenance and operations teams.
Release purchase orders, monitor vendor performance, and ensure timely vendor payments.
Track procurement budgets, spend analysis, and procurement MIS reports.
Manage import procurement activities, shipment tracking, customs coordination, and logistics.
Coordinate documentation for import transactions, Letters of Credit (LC), and statutory compliance.
Work closely with finance teams for procurement financing, insurance claims, and capital expenditure planning.
Drive ERP implementation (Navision/SAP/Oracle) and improve procurement processes.
Develop and implement SOPs, internal controls, audit compliance, and governance frameworks.
Coordinate with internal audit, statutory auditors, tax teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure operational compliance.
