Role Description:
The Assistant Manager / Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design and engineering of biopharmaceutical process equipment, including bioreactors, TFF/UF systems, pressure vessels, CIP/SIP skids, filter housings, and process piping assemblies. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, supports manufacturing operations, manages engineering documentation, and provides technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design biopharma process equipment and prepare engineering drawings.
- Develop 3D models, BOMs, P&IDs, and fabrication documents.
- Perform design calculations and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support customer requirements, FAT activities, and technical approvals.
- Provide engineering support to production and QA teams.
- Review and approve design outputs and engineering changes.
- Mentor junior engineers and maintain design standards.
Qualification and Experience:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
- 6-10 years of experience in biopharma/pharma process equipment design.|
- Strong knowledge of ASME BPE, ASME VIII, PED, GD&T, and cGMP.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience in pressure vessel design and hygienic stainless-steel equipment.
