About Outline India
Outline India is a research and data organization. We collect intelligence from the grassroots — running field surveys, impact evaluations, and policy research across India and South Asia, working with clients like the World Bank, UNDP, Mastercard, Google, and GSMA. We're a growing team that operates at scale: designing studies, deploying field teams, and turning ground-level data into analysis that informs decisions at the highest levels.
Role Overview
This role exists because most of what we do at Outline India begins with a relationship. A conversation with a UN agency leads to a research brief. A meeting with a tech company opens a data partnership. A panel appearance gets us in front of the right ministry official.
We need someone who can build and manage those relationships systematically — and who can craft the external communications that make those conversations worth having in the first place.
I.Partnerships
- Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with multilateral organizations, government agencies, AI and data companies, and research institutions
- Own the full arc: first outreach, relationship-building, through to a signed agreement or collaboration
- Maintain a live pipeline and follow through consistently — not just warm conversations
- Represent Outline India at conferences, panels, and sector events; travel as needed
- Work with leadership to prioritize which partnerships are worth pursuing
II.Communications
- Shape how Outline India presents itself externally — the positioning, the messaging, the channels
- Turn our research and field work into content that opens conversations with the people we want to work with: policymakers, AI companies, development organizations, researchers
- Build the kind of visibility that means people come to us, not just the other way around
What We're Looking For
- 5–7 years in partnerships, external relations, or business development — in development, research, GovTech, or tech
- Has actually closed relationships with large organizations: UN agencies, corporates, government bodies, or technology companies — not just managed existing ones
- Comfortable representing an organization publicly — panels, forums, fests, events, summits, conclaves, senior official meetings, client conversations
- Strong writer; strong in a room who can read the need
- Understands India's policy, development, or AI/data ecosystem well enough to have credible conversations in it
- Based in Delhi/NCR or willing to relocate; this is an in-office role
Strong advantage if you:
- Have an existing network in India's tech, policy, or development world
- Have worked with or sold to AI companies or data platforms
- Understand how large technology companies think about data acquisition and third-party research partnerships
What We Offer
- Real ownership from day one — you'll run your own pipeline, not support someone else's
- Direct access to leadership and visibility across our full portfolio
- Work that spans government, international development, and the private sector
- Competitive salary based on experience
