Role Description This full-time, on-site Sr Lawyer role is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Sr Lawyer will manage and lead complex legal matters, provide strategic legal advice, draft and review contracts and legal documents, and represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and arbitrations as required. Responsibilities include overseeing case preparation, conducting in-depth legal research, developing case strategies, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves mentoring junior legal professionals, coordinating with external counsel and stakeholders, and maintaining accurate legal documentation and case records. The Sr Lawyer will work closely with clients to understand their objectives, communicate legal risks clearly, and deliver practical, solution-oriented advice in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in litigation, dispute resolution, and advisory work, including experience handling complex civil and commercial matters.
- Proficiency in legal research, drafting pleadings, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents with attention to detail and clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to represent clients before courts and tribunals, including experience with hearings, arguments, and negotiations.
- Knowledge of relevant Indian laws and regulations, particularly in areas such as family law, commercial law, and corporate law, as applicable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills, with the ability to develop effective case strategies and assess legal risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior lawyers and support staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- LLB from a recognized institution; LLM or additional certifications in specialized legal areas are an advantage.
- Several years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with a track record of managing significant cases.
- High standards of professional ethics, integrity, and client confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced on-site environment.
