Job Title: Sr IT Architect

One of our clients is seeking a Senior IT Engineer – AEM Developer to support and modernize their global Customer Portal platforms. This role will act as a senior technical contributor within the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) ecosystem while collaborating with teams building next-generation headless commerce and portal solutions using Next.js and AWS.
The current environment follows a hybrid architecture:
- 60% AEM / Adobe Managed Services (AMS)
- 40% Next.js applications hosted on AWS
This role will be key in stabilizing the existing AEM platform while driving the transition to a headless, composable digital architecture.
Key Responsibilities
AEM Platform Ownership (Primary Focus)
- Design, develop, and enhance features within AEM (6.x / AEM as a Cloud Service)
- Build reusable components, templates, workflows, and integrations
- Manage deployments in Adobe Managed Services (AMS) environments
- Optimize performance, scalability, and content delivery
- Support upgrades, patching, and platform governance
- Ensure platform security, compliance, and access control
Portal & Customer Experience Enablement
- Support transition to headless commerce architecture
- Integrate AEM with backend systems (ERP, CRM, APIs)
- Collaborate with frontend teams using Next.js for API-driven delivery
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Technical Architecture & Governance
- Contribute to portal architecture and future-state roadmap
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards
- Drive performance monitoring and observability best practices
- Participate in design reviews and governance forums
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise web platform development
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with:
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Sling Models, OSGi, JCR, HTL
- AEM workflows and dispatcher configuration
- Adobe Managed Services (AMS)
- Experience integrating AEM with REST APIs and enterprise systems
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience working in global enterprise environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Headless CMS / Headless Commerce architectures
- Experience with:
- Next.js
- Node.js
- AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda)
- API-first and microservices architecture
- Knowledge of Adobe Commerce / Magento
- Experience with large-scale B2B customer portals
