Senior Fashion Designer – Bridal Wear

Role Overview
Anamika Khanna is seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Fashion Designer to join our design team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate should have a refined understanding of silhouettes, drape, textile innovation, and Indian craftsmanship, with the ability to create timeless luxury pieces that align with the brand’s distinctive aesthetic.
This role requires close collaboration with the Creative Director, sampling, merchandising, and production teams to transform concepts into exceptional garments that reflect the brand’s design philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design seasonal couture, bridal, and occasion wear collections in line with the brand vision.
- Develop innovative silhouettes with a strong sense of proportion, structure, fit, and drape.
- Lead textile and surface development, including embroidery techniques, fabric manipulation, print development, and embellishments.
- Create mood boards, sketches, CADs, technical drawings, and design presentations.
- Oversee sample development and fittings to ensure accuracy in design execution.
- Collaborate with production, pattern masters, and artisans to ensure seamless translation from concept to final garment.
- Source and coordinate with fabric vendors, embroidery units, dyeing houses, and craft clusters.
- Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship, finishing, and quality across collections.
- Stay updated with global fashion trends, textile innovations, and evolving luxury couture sensibilities while preserving the brand’s DNA.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in silhouette development, draping, and garment construction.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian textiles, couture finishing, embroidery, and artisanal techniques.
- Strong aesthetic sense with attention to detail, color balance, and luxury finishing.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage timelines and work efficiently in a fast-paced luxury fashion environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field from a reputed institute.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in luxury couture, bridal wear, or high-end ethnic fashion.
- Proven experience in leading collections and managing end-to-end design development.
- A strong portfolio showcasing couture silhouettes, textile innovation, and craftsmanship is mandatory.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Prior experience with luxury Indian designer brands is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of luxury client preferences and couture market trends.
- Passion for innovation while respecting traditional craftsmanship.
