JOB Description: Sr. Engineer/Sr. Lead Development-Interior Exterior Trims Automotive

Education: B.E Mechanical / Production/ Polymer Engineering

6-12 years in Automotive OEM or Tier I

Work Location: Aurangabad (Maharashtra)

• Development for Interior and exterior trims
• Experience in development of Four-wheeler Automotive components.
• Proven Experience in development of parts like Pillar Trims, Door Trims, Instrument Panel (Dashboard), Front and rear Bumpers, Fenders, seats, Consoles, Gaskets, Rubber Hoses, Door Sealing’s, Plastic and Rubber Moulded components. Carpets and insulations
• Perform detailed Zero-based costing for the parts and Tooling.
• Supplier relations and Supplier contacts.

Skill

Proven purchasing experience, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.

Tooling, Raw Material and manufacturing Process Knowledge.

• Process Knowledge: Injection molding, Blow molding, Thermoforming, Vacuum forming Rubber Compression molding, Rubber Transfer molding and Rubber extrusion, Plastic assembly, Plastic welding and painting
• Raw material knowledge for Polymers, Rubber chemicals, Soft trims etc.
• Tool Development and Tooling feasibility for the plastic and Rubber moulding tools, Jigs and Fixtures

Perform PPAP and Parts Development.

• Product Quality Planning (APQP): Drive all supplier-side activities related to APQP from the concept phase through launch. Ensure the supplier meets all technical milestones and quality gates.
• Part Approval (PPAP): Manage and approve the PPAP submission and PPAP Run for all new interior components. Verify that all part dimensions, material specifications, and performance tests are met as per the design requirements.
• Specification Review: Understand Specification & Requirements (technical drawings, GD&T, material polymer grades) and communicate them precisely to the potential suppliers.
• Quality Proving: Conduct detailed Quality proving and validation trials for new components both at the supplier site and in the in-house lab, ensuring robust processes and final product quality Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities
• Supplier Qualification: Support the Sourcing team by participating in Supplier Identification, Supplier Selection, and conducting initial Supplier Audit visits to assess process capability, manufacturing expertise, and quality management systems.

Technical Travel: Must be prepared to Travel whenever required to supplier sites for process audits, development meetings, and resolving quality or production readiness issues

Keen attention to detail and accuracy
