Key Responsibilities
- Develop Tx/Rx signal chain architecture including LNA, driver amplifiers, mixers, filters and matching networks.
- Develop clocking architecture (PLL, LO, low-phase-noise clocks) and deterministic latency using SYSREF.
- Define frequency planning, LO distribution, and clock synchronization across channels.
- Perform RF link budget, gain distribution, and noise analysis.
- Interface RF converters with ADC, DAC, and FPGA.
- Develop system architectures for radar, electronic warfare and phased-array systems.
- Support PCB layout for RF and high-speed digital interfaces including signal integrity review.
- Perform RF testing, characterization and debugging using laboratory test equipment.
- Collaborate with FPGA, DSP and system engineering teams for complete RF system integration.
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and design specifications.
- Ensure compliance with defense standards (MIL-STD, EMI/EMC regulations).
- RF Testing & Validation: Perform RF testing using a spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, and high-speed oscilloscopes. | Perform RF validation, including channel-to-channel phase error measurement, channel gain variation analysis, noise figure measurement, spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) validation, linearity (IP3), phase noise, intermodulation distortion (IMD), output power, spurious, and harmonics testing.
Required Experience
- RF exciter/receiver LRU design for radar or electronic warfare systems.
- Experience with ADC/DAC, clock generation, and RF up/down converters.
- Clock synchronization in multi-converter systems
- RF design experience up to DC–18 GHz.
- Experience with firmware development, calibration, and spectrum analysis, ESS (MIL-STD-810/JS55555, etc.), and EMI/EMC (MIL-STD-461, etc.).
- Experience integrating RF systems with FPGA platforms (Xilinx / Intel / Microsemi).
- Familiarity with hardware development cycles and lab testing procedures.
- Ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional projects.
Tools
- ADS / Microwave Office / HFSS / CST
- MATLAB or Python for signal analysis
- Altium / Cadence PCB design understanding
- RF lab instruments: spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator, and oscilloscope.
Qualification
B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, RF & Microwave Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in RF and mixed-signal system design.
- Timely completion of RF module design and validation milestones.
- Successful demonstration of RF subsystem performance to customer.
