Role Description The Sr Electrical Production Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division, responsible for overseeing electrical aspects of production operations. This role includes planning and supervising electrical production activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure schedules and targets are met, and resolving technical issues on the shop floor. The engineer will implement and monitor quality standards for electrical systems, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to safety and compliance requirements. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing production data, optimizing processes, guiding junior engineers and technicians, and supporting commissioning, testing, and maintenance of equipment.
An Electrical Production Engineer in a packaging machinery OEM is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the electrical assembly processes of packaging machines. This role ensures efficient production, quality compliance, and timely delivery of control panels, wiring systems, and machine electrical integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise electrical panel assembly and machine wiring
- Ensure proper installation of:
- PLC systems
- Drives (VFD/servo)
- Sensors and actuators
- HMI systems
- Coordinate with mechanical assembly teams for integration
Process Optimization
- Improve electrical assembly workflows to increase productivity
- Implement lean manufacturing practices
- Standardize wiring methods and panel layouts
- Reduce rework and downtime
Engineering & Documentation
- Interpret and validate:
- Electrical schematics (EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical)
- Wiring diagrams
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Support design team with production feedback
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure panels and wiring meet:
- IEC / CE standards
- Machine safety standards (EN, ISO)
- Conduct inspections and testing:
- Continuity tests
- Functional checks
- Ensure proper labelling and documentation
Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Design engineers
- Procurement team
- Shop-floor technicians
- Manage technicians and electrical assemblers
Commissioning Support
- Assist in machine testing (FAT – Factory Acceptance Test)
- Support installation at customer site (if required)
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
- Industrial automation systems
- Electrical panel design and wiring
- Experience with:
- EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical
- Servo drives, VFDs
- Sensors (photoelectric, proximity, safety)
- ERP

Educational Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in: Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
- Certifications in automation or safety standards are a plus
- 2–8+ years in:
- Electrical manufacturing / production
- Packaging machinery OEM (preferred)
- Hands-on experience in panel building and machine wiring
