About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Container Operations Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, supporting, and maintaining RingCentral's containerization platforms, primarily focusing on Kubernetes clusters. Your expertise will ensure the stability, scalability, and reliability of our core systems that support mission-critical services used by millions of users worldwide.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with talented professionals across the globe, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure. You will be integral to maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment, handling incident response, troubleshooting, and implementing automation to optimize platform performance.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, demonstrating a strong understanding of operating system management, networking fundamentals, and security best practices. Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and scripting languages like Python or similar is essential for streamlining deployment and operational workflows.
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting, is a core requirement for this role. Familiarity with container orchestration principles and experience managing large-scale, 24/7 production environments are highly valued. Candidates with experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS, will have a distinct advantage.
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and operational challenges. Strong communication skills and the capacity to work effectively in a global team are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, support, and maintain the company's Kubernetes clusters across on-premises data centers and cloud platforms such as AWS EKS.
- Participate actively in incident response activities, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve production issues swiftly and effectively.
- Manage and contribute to an on-call rotation, providing support for services in multiple regions including India and the U.S.
- Drive continuous improvements in platform stability, performance, and automation through innovative solutions and best practices.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement scalable, reliable, and secure containerization solutions.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and incident management processes.
- Ensure compliance with operational policies, change management procedures, and security standards.
- Monitor system health and performance metrics, proactively identifying potential issues before they impact users.
