Position Title: Sr. Dev Manager, Front End Engineering
Location: India
Description:
Primary responsibility of this leader is to lead experience squads in our experience engineering squads. Work cross-functionally with product management and user experience teams to execute and deliver the entire customer journey. This leader must be able to also drive web store modernization goals and progress while delivering customer experience goals. This leader should have a proven track record of working in a highly matrixed organization on extremely high-profile projects. We expect this individual to have a strong balance of technical and business acumen to translate the business needs into technical solutions. Experience transitioning engineering to React-based front end technology, while improving developer engagement and overall technical health.
This Sr. Dev. Manager of front-end Engineering will partner closely with our Sr. Manager / Director of Digital Experience Engineering to deliver a modern headless commerce experience. This individual should bring a high level of industry and platform expertise to offer best practices and support new ways of working for our teams. Experience hiring, onboarding and building high-performing teams.
Responsibilities / Qualifications:
- Own & Managed experience squads, made up of 1-2 tech leads, and 3-10 engineers of varying levels
- Partner with digital product management and user experience teams to define objectives and priorities
- Build and execute new features and capabilities while advancing front-end web store modernization
- Coach, mentor and drive engineering advocacy and efficiency
- Drive front end code base and vision towards CI/CD and automation
- Support transition to full autonomous teams through development CI/CD pipelines and building test automation into the pipelines
- Support investigation and analysis of front-end developer toolsets, development standards
- Support Customer Journey Evolution, sizing, defining the work and roadmap to deliver
- Monitor and measure the health of squads, code base, and progress towards vision state
- Maintain accessibility standards and front-end design system leveraged by sites
- Work with other front end engineering managers to share best practices and promote continuous improvement
- Build team to healthy ratio of internal/external mix
- Assist during the budgeting and planning process
- Required: 10-12 years of experience in the digital engineering space: implementing digital platforms/solutions, and extensive experience with web development, React.js, design systems.
- Required: Minimum 5 yrs in a people management role, with teams of 5-15 direct reports consisting of a mix between FTE and consultants.
- Required: Demonstrated expertise in Agile Methodology
- Required: Demonstrated experience and expertise in CI/CD development
- Required: Demonstrated experience in test driven development and automation
- Required: Proven track record of hiring, onboarding and upskilling
- Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening skills.
- Required: Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Required: Proven ability to work in a team-orientated, collaborative, and cross-functional environment, across multiple shared repositories, and global time zones.
- Preferred: Proven AI-first implementation experience; Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, OpenClaw, MCP integration, etc.
- Preferred: Experience in Azure cloud infrastructure and deployment best practices and common patterns
- Preferred: Experience with Global brands desired
- Preferred: Experience with AEM / Assets / Adobe Target
- Preferred: Experience with HCL / WCS Commerce.
