Role Description The Sr Design Engineer/Assistant Manager (Design) is a full-time, on-site role based in Mandideep. The role involves leading and executing design activities for bridge bearings, expansion joints, seismic systems, and related structural and mechanical components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing detailed CAD drawings, design calculations, and technical documentation, as well as coordinating with production, quality, and installation teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of designs. The position requires working closely with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, provide technical support, and assist in solution development and project execution. The role also includes supporting continuous improvement initiatives in design processes, maintaining design records, and contributing to the adoption of new technologies and best practices in engineering design.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to structural and mechanical components.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D and 3D modeling, detailing, and preparation of engineering drawings.
- Experience in Product Design, including concept development, design optimization, and design for manufacturability and installation.
- Working knowledge of Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to integrated systems in infrastructure or heavy fabrication projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in bridge bearings, expansion joints, or heavy fabrication industries is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with relevant national and international design codes and standards (e.g., IRC, IS codes, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
