About The Role
The Senior Data Scientist - Global Innovation at Anheuser-Busch is a strategic role designed to leverage advanced analytics and data science to drive commercial innovation across our global markets. Situated within the Category Management team, this position focuses on developing next-generation analytical capabilities that optimize pricing strategies, trade investments, portfolio management, and market execution. The role involves leading the design, scaling, and automation of machine learning and statistical models that support data-driven decision-making, scenario planning, and real-time performance monitoring. By integrating diverse data ecosystems—including transactional, market, and customer intelligence—the Senior Data Scientist will generate actionable insights to improve price elasticity, promotional effectiveness, channel productivity, and category dynamics. The ultimate goal is to enable smarter trade investments, strengthen category strategies, and accelerate growth while ensuring sustainable margins and increased trade ROI across markets.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related fields. Extensive experience in solving complex business problems through quantitative methods is essential. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large, high-dimensional datasets from various sources. Professional qualifications such as an MBA or Engineering degree in relevant technical disciplines like Marketing or Finance are highly desirable. A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is required, along with expertise in Python (including pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels), SQL, and data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau. Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate complex insights effectively to senior leadership are critical. Knowledge of advanced statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and scenario simulation will be advantageous. Above all, a passion for continuous learning, innovation, and a love for beer is highly valued.
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for leading the development of advanced commercial analytics solutions that support strategic decision-making across various domains, including pricing, promotions, assortment, and go-to-market strategies. Key responsibilities include designing and scaling machine learning and statistical frameworks to analyze consumer behavior, market dynamics, and performance metrics across multiple regions and channels. The role involves building demand forecasting and market intelligence models that incorporate internal and external data signals such as market trends, customer behavior, and competitive activity.
Applying advanced segmentation and clustering techniques to identify growth opportunities and enable targeted strategies is essential. The role also encompasses scenario planning, simulation modeling, and impact measurement through structured testing frameworks to evaluate business initiatives. The Senior Data Scientist will integrate internal datasets with external market intelligence, creating scalable analytics pipelines and unified data foundations that support advanced modeling efforts. Automating analytics workflows and developing executive dashboards for near real-time performance tracking will be crucial for providing timely insights to leadership.
Collaboration with senior commercial leadership, finance, and regional teams is vital to translating analytical insights into actionable strategies.
