About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data Platform team in Chennai. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data infrastructure that supports various business applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform, and possess strong expertise in data processing frameworks, SQL, and programming languages like Python and PySpark. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead complex data projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of scalable data solutions that impact multiple business units.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or related engineering disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of building and maintaining scalable data pipelines in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform, including services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow. Experience with AWS services is a plus.
- Proficiency in distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark for large-scale batch and streaming data processing.
- Strong knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow for designing, scheduling, and monitoring data workflows.
- Expertise in SQL, including writing optimized queries, performing complex data transformations, and tuning for analytical workloads.
- Proficiency in Python for developing data pipelines, automating workflows, and integrating with APIs or cloud services.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and hands-on experience with platforms such as Google BigQuery or Amazon Redshift.
- Solid knowledge of data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, optimized for analytics and reporting.
- Experience in designing scalable ETL/ELT architectures, ensuring data quality, reliability, and high performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data infrastructure processes and automate workflows to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Implement and tune data pipelines for maximum reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Create tools and scripts to facilitate monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ETL processes.
- Conduct regular scalability, latency, and availability testing to ensure system robustness.
- Perform thorough code reviews and quality assurance for data imported through various pipelines.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve data defects, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Document technical specifications, architecture designs, and process workflows to maintain comprehensive records.
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and database architects to support business initiatives and optimize data solutions.
