Job Summary**
As a Senior Data Engineer at LPL Financial Corp, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and data solutions that support our analytical and operational needs, contributing to data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Job Responsibilities**
- Design, build, and optimize scalable and reliable ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various source systems into the system of record and data lakes.
- Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity across all data platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineers,software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement data governance policies and best practices, including data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues, optimizing data pipeline performance and efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance our data infrastructure and capabilities.
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data engineering practices.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Extensive experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g.PostgreSQL, RDS).
- Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms (preferably AWS) and their data services (e.g., S3, Iceberg, Snowflake).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT methodologies, and data modeling techniques.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, or equivalent.
- Experience working with AI tools including co-pilot, claude code is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, data security, and privacy regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
