About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Platform Analytics team at Cimpress India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance data products that enable advanced cross-domain analytics across our product portfolio. Your expertise will help transform raw data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making and operational improvements for our mass customization businesses. You will serve as a key technical partner, bridging the gap between complex data ecosystems and business requirements, ensuring that our data infrastructure remains robust, secure, and adaptable to future needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative data solutions in a dynamic, remote-first environment, contributing significantly to our data-driven culture and enterprise success.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 4 years of experience in data engineering, preferably within eCommerce, marketing analytics, or large-scale data environments. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with hands-on experience with cloud-based data tools such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP. Familiarity with modern data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, and S3 is highly desirable. A strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and distributed systems is required. Knowledge of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices is also important. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to troubleshoot production issues independently, and effective communication skills to collaborate across teams. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is mandatory, with a master’s degree being a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Engineer, your core responsibilities will include designing, building, testing, and deploying secure, scalable data pipelines and solutions that meet business needs. You will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and analytics teams to clarify requirements and ensure data solutions deliver maximum value. Your role involves resolving production incidents through root-cause analysis and implementing best practices for logging, alerting, and system reliability. You will break down complex projects into manageable, iterative releases, advocating for minimum viable product (MVP) approaches to deliver incremental value. Leading technical discussions, providing architectural guidance, and reviewing code to uphold high engineering standards are key aspects of your role. You will also explore new tools and technologies to enhance scalability and efficiency, define relevant data metrics, and ensure data solutions support experimentation and long-term strategic goals. Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment will be integral to your success.
