Role Description The Sr Cost Manager – Civil / MEP is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for leading cost planning and estimating for civil and MEP packages, preparing detailed bills of quantities, and managing budgets from concept through completion. The Sr Cost Manager will review designs and specifications for cost, value, and constructability, coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors, and monitor cost performance against forecasts. Day-to-day responsibilities include cost reporting, variance analysis, tender and bid evaluation, negotiation support, and advising on value engineering and risk mitigation. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, maintaining robust documentation, and ensuring that cost management practices align with CCM India’s standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in civil and MEP quantity surveying, cost estimating, and construction cost management, with hands-on experience across multiple project stages.
- Capability in cost planning, budget development, expenditure forecasting, and financial reporting for real estate or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with value management, risk analysis, and elemental/functional cost analysis to support informed design and execution decisions.
- Solid understanding of building engineering services, construction methods, contracts, and local codes and standards relevant to Indian projects.
- Advanced skills in Excel and cost management software; familiarity with BIM or other digital tools for quantity take-off and cost analysis is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present cost options, negotiate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience mentoring or supervising junior cost management professionals and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline; professional certifications (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) are preferred.
