Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sr. BIM Coordinator based in Bengaluru. The Sr. BIM Coordinator will lead and oversee Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes, ensuring accurate coordination across disciplines. Responsibilities include managing BIM execution plans, ensuring compliance with project standards, and coordinating with architecture, structural, and MEP teams. The role also involves utilizing virtual design tools to optimize workflows and contributing to the successful delivery of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead and manage multiple BIM projects from initiation to delivery.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource plans.
- Create and maintain project schedules, milestones, and progress reports.
- Ensure adherence to project budgets, timelines, deliverables, and quality standards.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor BIM modelers, coordinators, and engineers.
- Allocate resources efficiently based on workload and skill sets.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Conduct client reviews, presentations, and status update meetings.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high quality BIM outputs.
Technical Expertise
- Oversee BIM execution using tools like Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM360, etc.
- Review BIM models for accuracy, coordination, and compliance with standards.
- Lead clash detection, coordination meetings, and problem resolution sessions.
- Implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP), LOD standards, and QA/QC processes.
Process and Quality Control
- Maintain and enforce project standards, workflows, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, company policies, and BIM best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- 6–12 years of experience in BIM projects and digital engineering.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a project lead/managerial role.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM360, Forma, ACC, Grasshopper, Dynamo, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM tools.
- Experience working on BIM for Architecture / Structure / MEPF / Infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of BEP, LOD specifications, clash detection, and coordination workflows.
- Have good expertise in BIM Automation.
- Have worked up to LOD 500 with quality.
Project Management Skills
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and task management abilities.
- Knowledge of PM tools like MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent (preferred).
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, decision making, and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deadlines.
