About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js, microservices architecture, and AWS cloud infrastructure to join Crudcook’s growing engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure backend systems that support our innovative fintech solutions. Your expertise will help ensure high performance, reliability, and security across our platform, enabling us to deliver seamless financial services to our users worldwide.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, event-driven backend systems, including APIs, on-chain infrastructure, and cross-chain protocols. You will have ownership of entire product surfaces from conception to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product success and technical excellence. The ideal candidate is passionate about building high-throughput systems, thrives with autonomy, and is eager to contribute to the future of Web3 and decentralized finance infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping production-grade backend systems.
- Deep expertise in Node.js, including event loop management, error handling, and development of non-trivial services.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous architectures such as message queues, pub/sub systems, worker pipelines, and retry & idempotency patterns.
- Solid system design skills with a focus on distributed systems, consistency versus availability trade-offs, and observability practices.
- Proficiency in designing clean, scalable APIs using REST and RPC protocols.
- Experience with Web3 technologies, including smart contracts, RPCs, on-chain data, bridges, or DeFi protocols.
- Proficiency in Rust, especially for performance-critical services, tooling, or blockchain integrations like Solana/Anchor.
- Strong fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms, enabling effective decision-making in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend microservices that support our fintech and Web3 infrastructure.
- Own entire product surfaces end-to-end, from architecture and scoping to deployment and iterative improvements.
- Implement event-driven architectures, scalable APIs, and on-chain infrastructure across various blockchain networks.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, front-end teams, and blockchain engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure system security, performance, and reliability through rigorous testing, monitoring, and observability practices.
- Drive technical innovation by exploring new tools, frameworks, and best practices in backend development and blockchain integration.
- Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Web3, blockchain protocols, and fintech trends to continuously enhance our platform.
