About The Role
Millipixels Interactive is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer specializing in NodeJS to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our content pipeline project, which is pivotal to our digital offerings. Your expertise will drive the development of scalable, efficient, and robust backend systems using event-driven architecture, ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building server-side applications, microservices, and APIs, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that align with our strategic goals. As a senior member of our team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to technical decision-making, and mentor junior developers to uphold best practices in coding and system design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of proven experience in developing complex software applications using Node.js, Typescript, and JavaScript.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing API and microservices-based architectures.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and frameworks such as ExpressJS and NestJS.
- Hands-on experience with databases including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS (S3, ECS, CloudWatch), with experience in architecting scalable solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with message brokers like Kafka or similar queuing systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with REST API development and consumption.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across geographically dispersed teams.
- Prior experience with agile development methodologies and a problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using NodeJS, Typescript, and JavaScript, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Create and sustain API endpoints and microservices that support our content pipeline and other core functionalities.
- Collaborate closely with the Content Team and other stakeholders to deliver seamless integration and functionality enhancements.
- Implement event-driven architecture to optimize system efficiency and responsiveness.
- Enhance existing applications by adding new features, improving performance, and ensuring security best practices.
- Participate in technical discussions, provide insights, and contribute to architectural decisions that impact project success.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure adherence to best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions to maintain system health and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to validate code reliability and facilitate continuous integration processes.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
