About The Role
RWS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join its dynamic mobile engineering team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Android applications that deliver seamless, high-performance user experiences. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android architecture components. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for owning the entire feature development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and architecture design to implementation, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, QA specialists, and backend developers, to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable applications. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on Android development experience, demonstrating a strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK. Expertise in Jetpack Compose, including Compose UI tooling, Material 3, and custom component development, is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of asynchronous programming with coroutines and Flows, as well as experience with modern architectural patterns such as MVVM and clean architecture. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, along with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Jenkins, is required. Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills are also necessary. A background in integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and local data persistence, combined with a passion for building scalable, high-quality applications, will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Android applications utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Compose to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions. Take ownership of end-to-end feature development, including requirement analysis, architectural design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Develop intuitive UI components using Jetpack Compose, Material Design 3, animations, theming, and state management tools such as StateFlow and MutableState. Work with modern Android architecture components like ViewModel, LiveData, Room, WorkManager, and Navigation to create modular and maintainable codebases. Implement clean, testable code following best practices in Clean Architecture and MVVM/MVI patterns. Integrate various data sources, including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and local databases, to ensure seamless data flow and synchronization. Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery efficiency, and offline capabilities. Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices within the team. Collaborate effectively with product, design, QA, and backend teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Maintain application stability and quality through comprehensive unit and UI testing, leveraging CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.
