Role Overview
This role focuses on embedded software development for aerospace systems, covering the full software development lifecycle from requirements through design, implementation, and testing. You will work on safety-critical applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to high-quality, compliant software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute full software development lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing
- Develop embedded software for aerospace applications with or without RTOS environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers to support program execution
- Participate in technical reviews and drive actions to closure
- Lead technical deliverables and ensure quality and compliance standards are met
- Contribute to software architecture design and system integration
- Identify risks, assumptions, and improvement opportunities within projects
- Support innovation initiatives, including development of new concepts and solutions
- Prepare technical documentation, white papers, and support intellectual property development
- Contribute to process improvements and team-level strategy initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Experience in embedded systems and software development
- Strong programming skills in C (C++ is an advantage)
- Experience with microprocessor and microcontroller-based system design
- Knowledge of software development processes and Agile methodologies
- Experience with integration and testing of embedded systems
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as AFDX, CAN, ARINC 429, UART, or I2C
- Experience with modeling and development tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or similar)
- Understanding of configuration and change management tools
- Knowledge of static analysis tools and debugging techniques
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace or safety-critical embedded systems
- Familiarity with environmental or cabin control systems
- Knowledge of certification standards such as DO-178C or equivalent
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Perl, Java)
- Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews
