About Shah Group:
Shah Group is a US-headquartered holding company operating across proprietary trading, digital ventures, and a charitable foundation, with offices in Hyderabad, Middle East, and Dallas. The group manages multiple legal entities across three countries and three currencies. We are not a typical startup we are a capital-intensive, internationally structured operation that demands financial precision, absolute integrity, and the ability to work across jurisdictions without hand-holding. We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will become the single source of financial truth for every entity in the group. This is not a data entry position. You will be the person the founder trusts with the complete financial picture of the company — which means you must earn that trust through competence, transparency, and character.
What You Will Own:
Financial reporting across all entities. You will produce monthly profit and loss statements for each business division independently — the trading division, the venture factory, the foundation, and the holding company. Each entity has different revenue sources, expense structures, and tax treatments. You must understand the differences and report them accurately without being told what to look for.
Multi-currency reconciliation. You will reconcile bank statements from all accounts monthly, track foreign exchange conversions with applicable fees (typically 3% on INR-USD), and produce a unified financial view in USD. Every transaction must be categorized, documented, and traceable.
Budget tracking and variance analysis. The group operates on a $67,000 monthly budget across 14 expense categories including staff salaries in three countries, office rents, technology subscriptions, contractor payments, and nominee director program costs. You will track actual spend against budget weekly, produce variance reports monthly, and flag any category that exceeds budget by more than 10% before it becomes a problem — not after.
Cash flow forecasting. You will maintain a rolling 3-month and 12-month cash flow forecast that accounts for predictable expenses, expected revenue, tax obligations, and capital deployment plans. The founder makes capital allocation decisions based on your forecasts — inaccuracy is not just an accounting error, it is a strategic risk.
Payroll processing. You will coordinate monthly payroll for the India team (15-25 employees) and the Pakistan team (5-8 employees), ensuring all payments are processed on time, statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS) are calculated correctly, and payroll records are maintained for audit readiness.
Tax coordination. You will not file taxes yourself, but you will prepare all data packages for the US-based CPAs.
Expense documentation and audit readiness. Every expense above INR 500 must have a corresponding receipt or invoice on file. You will maintain a digital expense archive organized by month, entity, and category. If the founder asks for documentation on any expense from any month, you must be able to produce it within 24 hours.
Vendor and contractor payment management. You will manage payment schedules for recurring vendors (office rent, internet, cloud services, contractors) and ensure all payments are made on time. Late payments due to oversight are unacceptable — they damage vendor relationships and create unnecessary friction.
What We Need From You:
Qualifications: B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent accounting qualification from a recognized institution. A completed CA or CMA is preferred but not required if you have strong practical experience.
Technical skills: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets — you must be comfortable with pivot tables,
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, conditional formatting, and building financial models from scratch. Experience with at least one accounting software platform: Tally ERP, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or Xero. Basic familiarity with Google Drive and cloud-based document management.
Character: This is the most important requirement and the hardest to screen for. You will have visibility into the complete financial picture of a multi-million dollar operation. We need someone who is honest when they make a mistake, transparent when they do not understand something, and incorruptible when they handle other people's money. If you have ever been let go from a position for financial misconduct, do not apply. We verify references thoroughly and we conduct background checks.
Work style: You must be someone who works with a closing mindset — every month must be closed, reconciled, and reported by the 5th business day of the following month. No rolling backlogs. No half-finished reconciliations. No reports delivered late because you were busy with something else. Financial reporting is your first priority, always.
What We Offer:
A high-trust, high-responsibility role in a growing international company where your work directly informs strategic decisions. Direct access to the founder — you are not buried in a hierarchy. Rapid growth potential — as the company scales, this role grows into a full Finance Manager or Head of Finance position. Exposure to international operations, multi-entity accounting, and cross-border financial management that most accountants at this salary level never get access to. A professional, structured work environment in the Hyderabad office with a team that values competence and integrity above everything else.
