About the Role
Fusion Practices is seeking an experienced Lead SQL Developer to join a high-performing team supporting a major banking client. The role involves leading the design, development, optimization, and support of large-scale Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehouse and reporting solutions.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server technologies, strong full-stack development experience, and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a complex banking and regulatory reporting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale SQL Server database solutions
- Develop and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SQL Agent jobs
- Drive performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database scalability improvements
- Lead development and enhancement of systems supporting:
- Head Office Reporting (JGAAP & USGAAP)
- Management Accounting & Reporting (MAR)
- Basel III regulatory reporting
- Support financial consolidation, validation, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance processes
- Design and develop APIs, backend services, and system integrations
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and offshore/onshore development teams
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, mentoring, and best practice guidance to developers
- Ensure high-quality delivery through unit testing, debugging, documentation, and release management
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and system modernization
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- T-SQL Development
- SSIS, SSRS, SQL Agent
- Data Warehouse and Reporting Solutions
Strong expertise in:
- Database design and performance tuning
- Query optimization and troubleshooting
- Data integration and ETL processes
Experience with full-stack technologies:
- C#
- JavaScript
- .NET / Node.js
- Angular or React
- HTML/CSS
Strong understanding of:
- RESTful APIs and system integrations
- Version control tools such as Git
- SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Banking or Financial Services domain experience
- Exposure to regulatory and financial reporting systems
- Understanding of Basel III frameworks and reporting processes
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise data environments
