About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager specializing in PL/SQL Development to join our Global Markets IT team at BNP Paribas India Solutions, based in Mumbai. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical systems that support the bank’s global trading and risk management activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex PL/SQL modules, building scalable data pipelines using Python, and developing low-code UI solutions with Oracle APEX. Collaborating with cross-functional teams across different geographical locations, you will contribute to the enhancement of our core trading systems and ensure high standards of performance, reliability, and security. This position requires a proactive approach, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work within an agile environment to meet project deadlines and deliver innovative solutions that support the bank’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in IT, with proven expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and Python development. A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is essential. Certifications related to Oracle, APEX, AI/ML, or other relevant technologies are advantageous but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and processing frameworks like PySpark is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in financial services or trading environments will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Requirement Capture: Collaborate with Business Analysts to gather, analyze, and refine requirements for new modules and enhancements, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical feasibility.
- Oracle Development: Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions to support critical processes such as reconciliation, accrual calculations, and workflow automation.
- Python Development: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and analytics solutions using Python, Apache Airflow, and PySpark to facilitate data processing and reporting.
- Low Code UI/UX: Develop intuitive Oracle APEX screens and forms for fee rate cards, invoices, and approval workflows, ensuring a seamless user experience and efficient process automation.
- Performance & Reliability: Profile data jobs, optimize database queries, create automated data validation checks, and develop Airflow DAGs to ensure system robustness and high availability.
- Source Code Management: Maintain all code repositories in Git, perform code reviews through pull requests, and keep comprehensive documentation for ease of maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Agile Delivery: Participate actively in sprint planning, release coordination, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with project goals.
