About The Role
We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Developer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. This role involves designing, tuning, and maintaining high-performance database systems that support our critical business applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PostgreSQL, with hands-on experience in query optimization, database schema design, and performance tuning. As a key member of our database team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and robust database solutions that meet the evolving needs of our organization. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience in database development and management, specifically with PostgreSQL. A strong understanding of database design principles, query tuning, and performance optimization is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with table partitioning, database clustering, and load balancing techniques. Prior experience working in production environments and handling P1 (priority one) issues is required. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Certifications related to PostgreSQL or database management will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Identify and tune database queries using tools such as PgAdmin and pGBadger to ensure optimal performance.
- Analyze database schemas, query execution plans, and overall system performance, implementing necessary improvements.
- Implement advanced performance enhancement techniques including table partitioning, database clustering, and load balancing to support high availability and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and product managers to design and implement scalable database architectures.
- Monitor production environments, troubleshoot P1 issues swiftly, and ensure the stability and security of database systems.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices to maintain consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in database technology to continuously improve system performance and reliability.
