About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Developer to join our dynamic Technology & Transformation practice at Deloitte. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance, data-intensive systems that support critical business operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SQL development, query optimization, and database architecture, with experience handling large-scale datasets such as telemetry, IoT, or event-driven data streams. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have between 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL development, demonstrating a strong understanding of SQL, schema design, and performance tuning. Proven experience working with large datasets, especially in telemetry, IoT, or event streaming environments, is essential. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of PostgreSQL internals, indexing strategies, and partitioning techniques to optimize system performance. Experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL in production environments is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with database monitoring, observability tools, and disaster recovery concepts will be beneficial. Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and database components to support high-performance applications.
- Build and maintain databases handling large datasets, telemetry, IoT, or event-driven workloads, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Perform advanced SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, and query optimization to improve system efficiency.
- Implement effective indexing and partitioning strategies to enhance database performance at scale.
- Work with AWS RDS PostgreSQL for deployment, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Implement and manage replication, backup, and high-availability strategies, taking ownership of these processes beyond routine operations.
- Utilize database monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with application, data, and platform teams to support evolving product requirements and ensure seamless integration.
