About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Developer to join our dynamic Technology & Transformation practice. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance, data-intensive systems that handle large-scale datasets such as telemetry, IoT, or event-driven data streams. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our clients’ digital transformation initiatives by building scalable database solutions that ensure data integrity, availability, and performance. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and enterprise-grade engineering, contributing to innovative projects that impact some of the world’s most influential organizations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL development, with a strong focus on SQL, schema design, and performance tuning. You should have proven expertise working with large datasets, including telemetry, IoT, or event streams, and a deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, indexing, and partitioning strategies. Experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL in production environments is essential, along with familiarity with database monitoring, observability, and performance diagnostics. Candidates should have a solid grasp of backup, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery concepts. Additional skills such as supporting high-throughput, low-latency systems, and cloud-native database design are considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and database components to support large-scale, data-intensive applications.
- Build and maintain databases handling telemetry, IoT, or event-based workloads, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Perform advanced SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, and query optimization to improve system efficiency.
- Implement effective indexing and partitioning strategies to enhance database performance and manageability.
- Work with AWS RDS PostgreSQL to deploy scalable, reliable, and secure database solutions.
- Implement and manage replication, high availability, and backup strategies, taking ownership of these aspects alongside development teams.
- Leverage database monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate closely with application, data, and platform teams to support evolving product requirements and ensure seamless integration.
