Role Description
We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to manage and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database integrity, security, and performance while supporting business operations and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
- Deep understanding on how to manage user access, roles, and security permissions.
- Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with developers to improve database integration.
- Plan for future database expansion and scalability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Some experience as a SQL DBA.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, database management, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and migrating from TFS to Azure DevOps Services
- Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps build and release pipelines, code repositories, Git etc.
- Experience with testing SQL deployments deployed to different environments. Automated testing skills are useful to have.
- Experience with on-premises Microsoft SQL Server 2019, 2022.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft SSDT within Visual Studio.
- Experience with Microsoft ETL tools and packages.
- Microsoft certification is a plus.
