SUMMARY: The position of Program Assistant regardless of race, creed or disability has the responsibility of assisting the Program Manager in addressing the academic and social needs of children and families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in developing a list of local resources and maintain a system for use of these resources in the working relationship.
2. Assist in implementing goals, policies and objectives of the Brandon Outreach Center.
3. Track all participants’ academic achievement, program participation and parent involvement.
4. Assist Program Manager in planning and implementation of activities for youth and parents.
5. Assist with developing and implementing a plan and system for continuous monitoring and evaluating of School Age youth after school programs.
6. Participate in in-service training, workshops, and administrative staff meetings as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Experience in working with children and families.
3. Must be willing to cooperate with staff, parents, children and community agency representatives.
4. Ability to pass a medical examination certifying freedom from communicable diseases and illegal substances.
5. Must be willing to travel when necessary to attend program conferences, workshops, or trainings.
6. Must have a positive attitude toward direction.
7. Must maintain a professional appearance.
