Swabodhini School and Vocational Centre for Special Children is a Chennai-based non-profit organization committed to empowering children and young adults with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Established in 1989, the organization supports over 160 students across four centers in Thiruvanmiyur, Velachery, Tondiarpet, and Selaiyur. Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role, based in Chennai, for a Speech-Language Pathologist. The key responsibilities include assessing and diagnosing speech, language, and communication disorders in children and young adults with neurodevelopmental conditions. The role involves developing and implementing tailored therapy plans, working closely with educators and families, and monitoring progress to ensure the best outcomes for each individual. The professional will also provide training and guidance to caregivers on how to reinforce therapeutic exercises at home.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Speech Therapy techniques and approaches
- Strong expertise in assessing and treating Speech and Dysphagia challenges
- Experience in managing and addressing Communication Disorders
- Comprehensive knowledge of diagnosing and treating Language Disorders
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and families effectively
- Prior experience working with children with neurodevelopmental conditions is an advantage
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
